NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK
One of the first Parks to be created in 1946, with an area of 113km2. It shelters big games such as buffalo, rhino, lion, leopard, Maasai giraffe etc. Also has about 400 species of bird situated 6 km from the city center.
ANIMAL ORPHANAGE
Situated at the main entrance to Nairobi National Park. Has animals which are straying or suck until they’re re-introduced into their habitats. Also form base of education and research. It’s not a Zoo.
OL-DOINYO SABUK
Founded in 1967 and situated at 77km (48 miles) north of Nairobi. Covered by forested slopes, ravines and Mt-Kilima mbogo (Big hill) standing at 2134m high. One can observe: buffalo. Bushbuck, Sykes monkeys, Black-face velvets. The forest birds to be observed are; Sparrow Hawk, African Goshawk, Olive Pigeon etc.
